Frances' Story

Frances had no social interaction in her Barry care home, until she took part in the Balanced Lives programme.

“When we came in there was quite good interaction. They had been bringing in people with learning difficulties or high need care, so whatever we had going on socially ceased. I have to say, things are getting much better now socially speaking. The Balanced Lives programme is absolutely marvelous, the interaction in phenomenal. I was getting no stimulation whatsoever before these programmes. I feel the social interaction is as important as the exercise. Independent living means that you can manage on your own but need a certain degree of support. Some of the people need total support, but that’s not us, so we feel isolated in here. Now everybody is getting the care and help they need.”

The Balanced Lives programme is absolutely marvelous, the interaction is phenomenal.
