Looking to the Future

Building links with Local Communities

James Lewis recently met with popular MP Tonia Antoniazzi at her HQ in Gorseinon to discuss new and existing Balanced Lives Projects. The Welsh Labour MP was very supportive of the work Action For Elders are doing in her constituency and tweeted she had a "postitive discussion about new and future projects."

Tonia's constituency of Gower covers a wide area and includes Mumbles, Clydach, and Gorseinon. It covers a third of the electorate of Swansea. We feel it's very important to connect with local communities and do what we can to help the older members of the local population stay fit and active. This area is typical of the places where we can make the difference.

In such areas, up and down the country, there is a large older population. The Balanced Lives Programmes, by focussing on the health and welbeing of the older people can alleviate the pressure on local authorities. It can also save money and preserve resources for the NHS.
