Research has shown that staying active in our older years can maintain confidence and reduce the likelihood of falls or make recovery faster.

Action for Elders believe that every older person should be able to live life to the full - mobility and physical health are the key to this, no matter what your ability.

If you are concerned about facing the winter or worried about someone you love who is older, then here are a few simple steps that you can take to ensure that you are in the best possible shape to enjoy Christmas and the colder months.

Betty Sutherland is our lead mobility worker for our programme in York, this is what she has to say:

I'm very please to be involved with this highly innovative service.

Richard Buble, 87 says:

I was active all my younger life - I can now keep fit in spite of my disability.
