Getting Back Out There – the background to our campaign

Tackle Anxiety and Loneliness

The past year and a half has been a time of anxiety and loneliness for many older people and their loved ones. Action for Elders is helping everyone to reconnect by providing practical help and support to ease back into normal life once more.

Getting Back Out There is a three-month campaign that aims to help people overcome the anxiety they feel about returning to normal life and resuming regular social contact. We are here to help you navigate your way out of lockdown.

The campaign brings together all the services we provide for older people, from our live and on-demand Balanced Lives exercise sessions to social groups such as our Book Club, Jigsaw Project and walking events.

  • Get mobile and active with our Balanced Lives online exercise sessions
  • Walk your way to fitness with our summer walking plans with our wellbeing sessions
  • Reconnect with loved ones and others with our Digital inclusion programme
  • Get help for anxiety and loneliness
  • Enjoy the company of others with our Book club and jigsaw projects
