Adrian Scott, our Digital Support Specialist has worked solidly during lockdown and beyond to help Action For Elders participants get connected so they can stay in touch with family and friends.
There has been a huge demand for Adrian’s services, so he set himself a challenge to walk more than 50 miles over ten days to raise money, to help us reach more older people to tackle loneliness and isolation in local communities.
Going The Extra Mile
On Friday 18th February, Adrian began walking 10,000 steps per day for ten days to raise money to help older people. Adrian has struggled with chronic back pain and walked through wind, rain and storms to make sure he covered at least 10,000 steps every day. Adrian finished the challenge on Sunday 27th February.
Adrian exceeded his goal, completing a total of 124,326 steps over 10 days, travelling through North, South and West Wales. That’s 50.44 miles on foot. Adrian has already reached his donations target on GoFund Me and hopes to add much more to this total over the coming weeks.
