Halloween Fun in Swansea
Spooky Fun on the Waterfront.
Friday 28th October – The Swigg, 1b, National Waterfront Museum.
We helped the older community in Swansea take their minds off the cost of living crisis by turning their regular Tea & Chat event into a special Halloween party with games, music and spooky fun.
Our regular Thursday walks in association with Swansea Council are attracting up to 80 people at a time and the regular Friday Tea & Chat event at The Swigg on the Waterfront (also in association with Swansea Council) is hugely popular.
Early Halloween Fun
To celebrate Halloween, we turned the Tea & Chat event in Swansea into an afternoon of early Halloween fun. Everyone had a wonderful time, including the winner of the best costume – who was awarded a pumpkin coloured rosette. The event was a huge success and attracted more that 100 people.
“I’ve never had so much scary fun in all my life,” said one participant.
“I’ve been down all week but since I attended the party my mood has lifted,” said another participant.

Batman supports the older community
One Action For Elders Team Member Myles got into the swing of things by dressing as Batman.
“I don’t know what came over me, for a minute I thought I was the caped crusader,” said Operations Manager, Myles.

Support for older people during this winter crisis
The older community are facing a difficult winter this year with spiralling energy and food prices.
Action For Elders work at the heart of the older community in Wales with regular weekly exercise, wellbeing and social programmes. We also provide digital inclusion services to help people stay connected. During the winter we will also be providing blankets and heat pads at our Balanced Lives Social Hubs.
