From Ukraine to Sheffield.

The current situation in Ukraine has caused a great deal of distress for so many families with millions of refugees fleeing Ukraine since February 2022 and with your help, we can make life better for many of those finding refuge in the UK.

Grandma Vira is 74 years old and has been living with her family since fleeing to the UK for her own safety. Vira’s granddaughter Kasia had been concerned for Vira’s mental health and wellbeing, so she contacted Action For Elders for help.

Kasia takes up the story:

“I used your website contact form a week ago to enquire about my Grandma Vira joining your wonderful Jigsaw Project.”

“I’m sure that being part of something like the Jigsaw Project would really cheer her up and be a welcome distraction,” said Kasia. “I’ve already told her about your wonderful work and she’s super excited to hear back from you.”

Thrilled with the result

Both Kasia and Vira were thrilled with the jigsaw, which really made a difference to the whole family.

“I just wanted to send you a photo of Grandma having completed the jigsaw puzzle that you so kindly sent (see above). She thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of 500 pieces and said it was great to look forward to putting more of it together each day! 

“I’d like to thank Action for Elders for the lovely jigsaw, it has cheered me up and taken my mind off things since leaving Ukraine,” said Vira.
