Action For Elders are the proud recipients of a Weston Charity Award, which recognises our work on the front-line supporting the older community during this time of COVID-19 and the issues of social isolation it brings.
The prestigious Weston Charity Awards were created by the Garfield Weston Foundation to celebrate and support front-line charities working in the fields of community and welfare.
At Action For Elders we are constantly innovating in the fields of care for the older community. We have taken our Balanced Lives Programmes online to support people both at home and in care homes. We have also been working toward running safe outdoor exercise programmes for older participants, fitting in with current social distancing rules.
Action for Elders has overseen the introduction of online exercise, preventative health and social connectedness support.
Our participants are among those most vulnerable to the Covid-19 pandemic: older people who have life-limiting health conditions. Our urgent and primary concern has been to transform our delivery model. Our selection by the Weston Charity Awards recognises our ultimate goal of helping those in later life by building and developing our Balanced Lives programmes, taking them to all areas of the UK, and building the long-term sustainability of the organisation.

This award sees us working in partnership with Pilotlight – who offer charities access to strategic business support. We are looking forward to working together on a variety of community-based programmes
